Formerly used by Malaysian railway operator Keretapi Tanah Melayu, Tanjong Pagar Railway Station sent off its last train on 30 June 2011 after nearly 80 years of operation.
During its operation, the station ran several trains between Singapore and the various states of Malaysia. It also housed several famous food stalls, which had been around for more than a decade. Tanjong Pagar Railway Station was then gazetted as a national monument on 9 April 2011 due to its heritage and historical significance.
